| Hester's Weakness It would be downright cruel, if not shameful piling on, to say anything negative about Bears return ace Devin Hester. Nonetheless, while the Bears are feverishly working on their punch list to complete reconstruction before Sunday night's meeting with the Green Bay Packers, somebody ought to take a wrench to Hester's hands and tighten things up a bit. Hester appears headed to the Hall of Fame as the best return man in league history, but he's also putting the ball on the ground with shocking regularity. The only Bears player to score two touchdowns this season, Hester has 12 fumbles in 20 games since bursting onto the scene as a rookie last year. He has lost only two of them, but nonetheless has more fumbles than any player other than a quarterback in that stretch. Quarterbacks touch the ball on every play; Hester averaged 4.2 combined returns during the regular season a year ago and has 27 combined returns through four games this year, plus one catch on offense. Strictly limiting the discussion to returns, Hester has fumbled once for every eight returns. Again, the Bears only have lost two of them, but it's a remarkably high ratio. Geez, Devin: Squeeze it
