Gotta vent If I could have jumped through the radio today I would have. How do these radio host get a job is what I'd like to know. I listen to a local Tampa morning show and the Tony Bruno show. Both these guys just come out ripping the Bears and their bad play last night. OK, I can live with that. Grossman and Ron Turner (imo) lost that game last night. Bruno made a comment on what Madden (Who has diarrhea of the mouth) said when he said what do you do about Grossman? Saying that Griese is just a band - aid. Well, I'd like to ask. WHAT IN THE FREAK ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO DO, JUST STICK WITH GROSSMAN!?!? These people don't seem too understand that this is a CONTRACT YEAR FOR GROSSMAN. They don't have to bring him back. From what you have seen so far, if you are the GM for the Bears are you going re-sign Grossman? More than likely not. So what the hell do you have to lose? This is, or was a CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM. Every team has a backup QB for a reason, and one reason is that, if the one is not getting the job done put in the other. Face it, Grossman is done in Chicago. The local media has turned on him. The National media has turned on him. And last night, the fans turned on him. I will say that it seemed to me that the media was on a witch hunt for Grossman from day one. Like Ryan Leaf or Vinny Testaverde was. Here is what I would do though. I let Grossman start this week and he's gotta play lights out. If he comes out like he has the past two games, he's done. It's that simple. Let Gresie take over, draft a QB in next years draft, and let Griese or Orton run the team untill the new QB is ready. It kills me how the media say's Grossman sucks, but at the same time it's stick with him because you have know one else. Bruno's side kick say's the Bears had one of the worst off seasons because of the T. Jones deal and taking Olsen in the 1st round when they needed a QB. I'll give the guy the T.J deal. I felt the Bears got ripped off in that one, but not taking a QB? The Bears just came off a Super Bowl loss with a young QB with 1 year left on his deal. I don't think many teams are going to drop their QB in that situation. Besides, the Bears had the 31 pick in the draft, and this was a weak year for QB's in the draft was it not? What were the Bears going to do, move up to draft Russell or Quinn? Get a clue!

Re: Gotta vent I just don't know what the answer is. Don't want to make you jump through the computer, but that's what I think too, Greise would be a band aid, and not a very good one. In my perfect world, Orton would be the quarterback, I was happy when he was the quarterback, he couldn't complete a pass to save his life, so they ran the ball. Maybe it has something to do with growing up with the Bears, who for the most part have had bad quarterbacks, but for me, that's what I think football is, a stomp em dead defense, and a good running game. The problem with my fantasy of Orton is, Orton no longer has Thomas Jones to hand the ball off to. Maybe the answer is to loose as many games as they can, to get the first pick in next year's draft.

Re: Gotta vent From what I'm reading it's looking like Griese is going to get the call Sunday. If Orton is the better QB than fine start him, but his deal is up after this season as well. Griese is signed till 2010, he'll get the call over Orton. They might let Orton and Grossman go, and go after McNabb. McNabb #1, Griese #2 and maybe you bring Orton back as #3. I'm sorry but imo Grossman is gone.
