| Bears TE Olsen Sprains Knee, Likely to Miss Opener ![]() The Bears nearly came out of the preseason injury- free, but in the second quarter of their preseason finale against the Browns, first round draft pick Greg Olsen came up limping after being tackled by Browns LB Clifton Smith. Olsen, a former member from the “U” (Miami Hurricanes), made nine catches for 75 yards in four games this preseason. The 6-foot 6, 252 pound TE, with a blazing 40 time of 4.5, is expected to give the Bears some much-needed explosiveness, to add to the passing game, as well as an added safety valve for QB Rex Grossman. | Re: Bears TE Olsen Sprains Knee, Likely to Miss Opener Some good news on Olsen. Sep 3 Olsen will be a gametime decision for Sunday's season opener at San Diego, according to Bears coach Lovie Smith. The Chicago tight end sustained a knee injury in Thursday's preseason game versus Cleveland, but an MRI exam on Friday revealed no structural damage. |

| Re: Bears TE Olsen Sprains Knee, Likely to Miss Opener From what I've heard about Olsen, it will be hard to keep him on the bench. They say he has a great fire and passion for the game. But the trainner better be damn sure he's ready to go. I'd rather see Olsen miss a game or two instead of the whole season. |
