The Bears nearly came out of the preseason injury- free, but in the second quarter of their preseason finale against the Browns, first round draft pick Greg Olsen came up limping after being tackled by Browns LB Clifton Smith. Olsen, a former member from the “U” (Miami Hurricanes), made nine catches for 75 yards in four games this preseason. The 6-foot 6, 252 pound TE, with a blazing 40 time of 4.5, is expected to give the Bears some much-needed explosiveness, to add to the passing game, as well as an added safety valve for QB Rex Grossman.

Some good news on Olsen.

Sep 3 Olsen will be a gametime decision for Sunday's season opener at San Diego, according to Bears coach Lovie Smith. The Chicago tight end sustained a knee injury in Thursday's preseason game versus Cleveland, but an MRI exam on Friday revealed no structural damage.

From what I've heard about Olsen, it will be hard to keep him on the bench. They say he has a great fire and passion for the game. But the trainner better be damn sure he's ready to go. I'd rather see Olsen miss a game or two instead of the whole season.
