Re: 49ers not quite up to the Bears' standards

He fumbled another snap and had an interception returned 52 yards for a touchdown. But along with the mistakes came the flashes of brilliance that have teased the Chicago Bears the past few seasons.

Grossman played the first half and passed for 211 yards and two touchdowns, and the defending NFC champions held off the San Francisco 49ers 31-28 in a preseason game on Saturday night

Same old Grossman if you ask me...

if he ever found a way to minimize the problems, the Bears would be talked about at the top of the NFL ..... as it is there are still 4-5 AFC teams they just cant beat

If not at least 2-3...yeah...they need stability at QB, expecially with a shut down D...they don't need a gunslinger...a good game manager will do...

exactly, they dont need someone to put up huge points with the defense they have .... just play relatively mistake free and they will win most any game

Re: 49ers not quite up to the Bears' standards

It's mind boggling to think how good they could be if they did have consistent quarterback.
I dont quite like the name of this thread. The 49'ers are still young and getting the pieces together. Give them a little playing time in the regular season and the tables will turn.

bears, where did Rex grow up? What team did he watch as a kid?

I'd take Rex over Eli anyday.

That's a pretty bold statement SS, knowing that every team can be beat.

How about naming the 4 to 5 teams for us so we can get this board talking about some football!

sure thing

Colts ...... Patriots ..... Chargers ..... Ravens ...... Bengals

i think all of those teams could beat the Bears 7 out of 10 tries

I'd be tempted to add the Broncos to that list too, simon.
