Hester’s Hamstring Injury Slowly Becoming a Concern

The Chicago Bears are thinking that 2nd year player Devin Hester is going to be able to make a swift transition from defensive back to wide out, and things have been so far so good. Until now. Hester has been on the sidelines for the last two days for the Bears, watching practice from the sidelines with a right hamstring injury. At first head coach Lovie Smith didn’t seem all that concerned about it, but now over 48 hours with no Hester seems to have the head coach a little worried. “It’s a concern the first day he missed,” Smith said. “But beyond that, that’s how training camp goes, especially with skill guys. You look across the league, just about every team has a guy who is dealing with some things like that. When they get a little sore, you let them sit out for a while.”

So far, no return date has been set for Hester, as he and the team simply sit back and wait for the hamstring to heal. How long that will be is anyones guess. “Rest is the only thing that can take care of a hamstring injury,” Smith said. The longer Hester rests though, the more behind he will get in getting set to make the move from defense to offense. And that is something that eventually is going to be a big concern for Smith and the team.

TO wasnt faking either. Hamstring injuries hurt!

So he rests a little and then comes back. Hester will be ok even if he missed a practice or two.

I think that's a bunch of BS. Hester has been in every offseason camp learning the offense/WR position. I hate when they make it out to be more than it is. Does that mean that if Hester misses 2 weeks of pre season we are not going to see him untill week 8 of regular season? Come on.
