| Lance Briggs likely to take Franchise Tag A report Bears Linebacker Lance Briggs will likely accept the one year franchise take offer and report training camp later this. Briggs will get a one year $7 million deal. A clause in the deal states that the Bears can't franchise him next. So is to big to you it is to me.

| Re: Lance Briggs likely to take Franchise Tag Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that Briggs will sign his tender and report to camp a day or two late, due to a prior commitment. Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports (and we've confirmed) that the Bears sill not apply the franchise tag to Briggs if he plays in at least 75 percent of the defensive snaps this season. We're also told that the Bears will advance to Briggs $1 million of the $7.2 million base salary that becomes fully guaranteed once Briggs signs the tender. The signs are up around ONU for training camp, so I figured I better check in. |

| Re: Lance Briggs likely to take Franchise Tag All it means to me is that he'll become an URFA after this season and he'll be gone. Unless they can work a long term deal with him but I don't think the Bears will. |

| Re: Lance Briggs likely to take Franchise Tag If Grossman has a big year he 's going to eat up some budget. I agree though it's a one year thing with Lance. He'll leave, and the Bears will not try to re-sign him. Too bad it's more about the money than winning now a days. |
