Post Tommie Harris Donovan McNabb comments

Speaking this weekend from Philadelphia, where Harris was a guest of McNabb's at the quarterback's charity golf tournament, the D-lineman had this to say: "I'd love to have [McNabb] as my quarterback in Chicago. … Hopefully, he comes here and helps the Chicago Bears win the Super Bowl. … If he comes to Chicago, we'll definitely win the Super Bowl. … He's my friend and I would like him to play on my team. … I'd love him to play for the Bears."

He just kept going.

And Harris wasn't done, capping his comments with, "Hopefully we get Donovan."

Grossman likely not laughing over 'joke' on ChicagoSports.com

You see the comments - Harris guarantees a Super Bowl win if McNabb lands in Chicago. Is he right? And what does Grossman have to think about this?

Nice vote of confidence...why do that publicly to your own team? How does that foster team work or a winning attitude? Harris should shut up...then again...Rex is no quarterback...

Wow, where is the flexibility in learning your job. This was his first full season. He should be allowed some room for improvement. He had some flashes where he was brilliant. I think he ought to be given this season to see where he is going to progress.

Who's this "you guys" anyway? It was his teammate, Tommie Harris, that said this stuff, not me. If his teammates lack confidence in him...

I dont have much faith in Rex either but it was a lousy thing for a teammate to do.

Re: Tommie Harris Donovan McNabb comments

Harris issued an apology and explained it a bit more yesterday.

"I will be careful the next time I joke around," he told reporters. "Donovan was behind the camera laughing. We were joking around and it escalated to more than what it was. I apologized to the rest of my team. I was very embarrassed with how much it blew up with the media. My team forgave me, so that's all that matters."

Grossman went on to say that he didn't think it was that big of a deal.

The naivete of these guys never ceases to amaze me. Kind of like mora in Atlanta. You just dont joke like that around the media. They arent rookies either.

What kills me is the reporter in this situation. He had to know these two were fooling around, yet he took the story and ran with it like it was real.
