Hey, mamijole! Not a Bears fan, but definitely they are the team to beat in the NFC North. Not too sure about the Griese signing - he never seems to quite be the QB everyone expects him to be, but I suppose he's a decent enough backup to Grossman. I'm a little surprised Orton isn't in the mix. Sure, his numbers were atrocious, but they did win with him under center. What do you think of their chances in '06?

Mamijole - Welcome to goteams go. I actually think Griesie is a decent signing. I don't think he's that bad. He actually played well for Tampa before getting hurt. So if Grossman gets hurt again, Gresie is a major upgrade over Orton.

Born and raised in Chicago, got transferred to Memphis 3 years ago. Hard to keep up with them as everyone here seems to be Packers fans.

I think Orton is still in the mix, needs some seasoning. Grossman has been too fragile so far so I would assume Griese is insurance.

I grew up in Chicago and still love the Monsters of the Midway. The Bears were on the way up last year. If they started Grossman a few games earlier they might have gotten to the Super Bowl. They had to develop into him being the quarterback. The Bearded Lady did a good job of not fumbling when he handed off but that was about it.

I don't think Grossman was ready from his injury, which is why Griese is now a Bear.

Orton did what was asked of him with the limited knowledge/exposure he had. Agreed, other rookies have done better, but not too many had the win/loss record he had
