When the
Chicago Bears lost to the Indianapolis Colts on Superbowl Sunday, 29 to 17, a die-hard Bears fan lost his bet that the Bears would win the game and must now change his name to the name of Colts' quarterback Peyton Manning.
Scott Wiese 26, from Forsyth Illionois, pledged in front of a crowd at a Decatur,
Illinois bar that if the
Chicago Bear's lost the superbowl game to the Colt's, he would legally change his name to that of Payton Manning.
Scott will now have to advertise in the local newspaper, The Herald Review for several weeks before a judge can give permission for him to legally change his name. Wiese however did not make any promises about how long he would keep the name.
Wiese and Manning have little in common as far as look and interests are concerned. Wiese is described by Associated Press as being 5-foot 11 and working at Staples, while Manning is 6-foot 5, and quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts.
Wiese is quoted as saying "I think I kind of represent all Bears fans, Not that I'm saying they're idiots like me, but I represent their passion because I really care about my team, you know?" Dude, you made one hell of a dumb bet...keep the rest of the Bears fan out of it...
