| [quote=ThePundit;88405]After that horrific peformance, you have to wonder whether Grossman will become another Rick Ankiel. I mean, it's one thing to play bad. It's another to not look like a professional doing it: On so many of his passes, he looked like a little kid playing touch football, just fading back and throwing the ball as high as he could. Grossman had trouble dealing with the media questioning during this week. He was surly and short with everybody. And that was only one week! Now he's going to be criticized until he gets back to the Super Bowl. No matter how good he plays during the year, he'll still have to answer questions about this. I'll Just say he's better off staying in miami for a little while longer he's the biggest reason why they lost not the only. I think sticking with that ship should have cost Lovie that fat Contract. Whatever Happen to doing what's best for the team? And how did It get replaced with I'm sticking with who I think is best? You see It all the time around the NFL look at "Kansas City "we have fan's here that did'nt careless who played in the Game yesterday because of Silly coaching self centerness moves like that one. I mean really did lovie seek dungy's advise about how to handle that problem or what. Now i would'nt be the factor If I did'nt throw out this conspiracy factor Lovie has a ring Tony did'nt. Can you explain why everybody but Hester was running kickoffs and punts back in the Biggest game of the year. |

| Re: Should Bears get rid of Grossman? I admire Lovie for sticking with Grossman. I did not hear too many complain after victories over SEattle and New Orleans. That was his first full year of starting ... Look at Eli Manning? Look at Peyton's stats his first year of starting. Give the guy a break! Did he play bad in the superbowl? Yes .... But he DID get them there .. all his teammates back him as did his coach. Rex is the future of the Bears and the future looks bright. |

He needs to be fair and let Grease compete for that starting position. Dungy has to much influense on Herman and Lovie In terms of loyalty to there failing Quaterbacks this year. Bad news for the Bears party! Its over baby now you have to play with the Big Boys next year and I'll Quote Denny Green "The Bears Where Who He Thought The Were". |

| Re: Should Bears get rid of Grossman? You can quote whoever you want .. the fact is the Bears made it to the superbowl. They did not get a free pass. They played 19 games to get there. Rex was the quarterback too ... he won his share of games and had bad games as well. If you saw the stats, Rex had more 100+ rating games that Peyton himself. Rex is just inconsistant right now ... that is a result of not playing in enough games. He will get better. Griese got a chance vs. Green bay and you saw what he did ..... Lovie sees the qb's every day in practice, film and games and he chose to stay with Rex. Since I cannot be at practices, watch film etc... I am going to guess that what Lovie sees is that Rex is the best qb for the team. Don't you think the rest of the team would have bailed on him if they did not have confidence in him? Everyone on the team defended Rex ... offense and defense. That tells you something right there. |

| Re: Should Bears get rid of Grossman? Hey, the Bears could take a page out of Baltimore's book, bring in Elvis Grbac and see how bad things can REALLY get. Grossman is no better or worse than Ben Roethlesberger at this point in his career. Both can be pretty good or really bad, and both were lousy in their respective 1st Super Bowl appearance. Grossman may yet develop into something, but getting back to Pundit's original point, I wonder about his state of mind after the loss. We'll see how mentally tough he is by how he responds to the absolute media pounding he's going to take over the next 12 months.

Rex's are better than Peytons in their first full year. I know I can't win this arguement because I am one of the very few that still defend Rex. The stats say that the Bears should bail on him and look for another qb. I still have a feeling that he can turn into a quality starting qb. Time will tell! |

You are free to defend him all you want...I see a guy that rattles rather easy and makes poor decision under pressure... |

| Re: Should Bears get rid of Grossman? I agree with you ... but ... I once again attribute that to inexperience. In 1998 Marshall Faulk made the pro bowl He rushed for 1319 yards at 4.1 per carry. He also had 86 receptions for 908 yards. The Colts defense was terrible. |
