| Re: Bears vs. Saints - NFC Championship Game Boy did the wheels ever come off for the Saints, and the Bears -- probably the least respected, nationally, of the NFL's "final four" -- are going to the Super Bowl. And man did they ever earn it. 39-14 Bears right now, with about 3:30 remaining, and Chicago's basically just running down the clock. So now all we do is wait to see who they'll be facing, the Colts or the Patriots.

| Re: Bears vs. Saints - NFC Championship Game I'm very disappointed with the New Orleans Saints in general. A better offensive gameplan and this team would be booking reservations for South Beach right now. On offense, they seemed to abandon what made them so explosive during the regular season. Payton employed a lot of movement into the scheme which forced the defense to tip their hands, allowing Brees to make the correct reads and put the ball in the most opportune place. They even showed less play-action and the Bears pinned their ears back because of it. The Cover 2 is notorious for having three weaknesses: (A) The middle seam, (B) the sidelines about 18-20 yards deep, and (C) lack of answer for a physical runner. When all those elements work in tandem, the Cover 2 can be beat easily. If I am the offensive coordinator, I make sure either Colston or Bush are always in the slot and looking to exploit the middle seam. Naturally, the Bears would adjust by having Urlacher play a deep midfield zone. When they make that adjustment, it opens the defense up to the run and Deuce McAlister is running with the physicality that he was known for pre-injury. If they did those two things in conjunction with their speedsters exploiting the sideline on streaks and working underneath on play-action passes, then we are talking about how Rex Grossman couldn't get it done. On defense, I would have liked to have seen more run stunts. Instead, they elected to commit a safety to the box and it worked for some time. But, ultimately, the Bears continued to get plus plays on the right side of the line like they have all year. They were talking about that New Orleans defense being underrated and I just don't see it. After watching them this year, their linebackers were susceptible to being caught out of position and they rarely got penetration into the backfield to stop the run. Will Smith and Charles Grant were the reason that defense had any semblance of success, and the latter was inconsistent throughout the year. |

| Re: Bears vs. Saints - NFC Championship Game well if your next wish it for the Bears to win the superbowl .. I really hope your wish comes true!!! I celebrated with my sister ... on the cell phone .. she was in Iowa in a bar with hundreds of Bear fans!! |

| Re: Bears vs. Saints - NFC Championship Game I think they were trying to say the Saints offense was better than everyone elses! It is ok that the Bears are underdogs. This week, 90% of the fans were for New Orleans, because of Katrina. Superbowl week they will all be for Indy because of Peyton Manning needing to win the big one. Hopefully Rex and co will out shine them and bring the championship back to Chicago! When does the SuperBowl Shuffle II come out? |

| Re: Bears vs. Saints - NFC Championship Game I'll admit, I was one of those guys pulling for the Saints to win. But the Bears played such a great game, that it's hard to understand why they're still not getting respect from the oddsmakers. Should be a good game. |

| Re: Bears vs. Saints - NFC Championship Game Well I just hope Manning holds true with the "Can't win the big game theory." I know it's a long shot and Vegas is already giving the Bears 6.5 points. The worst of it all is that I have to wait two weeks to see the game. We will drink Champagne the night of the game if my wish comes true.

| Re: Bears vs. Saints - NFC Championship Game I was partaking of the beverages during this win ... apparently a little too much, judging by the way I am feeling right now! It is great to see the return of the MONSTERS OF THE MIDWAY!!! |

| Re: Bears vs. Saints - NFC Championship Game Quote:
If I'm gameplanning them, their defense doesn't strike fear into my heart. Without Tommie Harris and Mike Brown they are above average. Not great, but above average. |

| Re: Bears vs. Saints - NFC Championship Game "New Orleans came in with an atrocious gameplan. I have no doubt in my mind that if they came in with a different one that offense would have been more than capable to put points up on that defense. " But they didn't .... and if Rex threw 4 int's they would have lost ... but he didn't. bottom line is Bears won that game .... The super bowl ... yet to be decided! Will Indy put up points against the BEars defense? ... most definitely ... will the Bears put up points against Indy's defense ... I believe so ... We may be looking at a shoot out. |
