Chicago Bears fans skeptical after poor play against the Packers

CHICAGO - A common phrase was repeated over and over again Tuesday as nervous Chicago Bears fans debated the team's postseason potential: One and out.

The Bears boast a 13-3 record, a division championship, a first-round bye and homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.

But a dismal 26-7 loss against the Green Bay Packers on New Year's Eve left many Chicago fans skeptical about a trip to the Super Bowl, saying it swung the momentum of the team - particularly quarterback Rex Grossman - in the wrong direction.

"We're going to be in for a very tough playoff run, if they play the way they played in that last game," said longtime fan Mary Berns, who was having lunch at a downtown restaurant Tuesday. "I don't see them making it past the first game. I really don't."

She and many other fans say the Bears' biggest obstacle is inconsistent play from Grossman, who completed 2-of-12 passes for 33 yards with three interceptions in Sunday's regular-season finale. His quarterback passer rating was 0.0.

I was more worried about SEattle than I am the Saints.

Maybe it is the Saints tradition .. I can't take them for real for some reason.

I think the Bears shut down their offense ... make big plays on defense and Rex has another decent day.
