Bears DT could be finished
Toronto Star, Canada - 2 hours ago

Chicago Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris, who made the Pro Bowl a year ago, could miss the remainder of the season with a severe hamstring injury.

Harris left Sunday's game against Minnesota in the third quarter with what was originally announced as a sprained left knee. Coach Lovie Smith said Monday the injury was not considered season-ending.

But yesterday Smith said the hamstring injury was more severe than the knee sprain and that Harris was slated to go to Dallas to see a specialist. He added that Harris could miss the remaining four regular-season games and perhaps even the playoffs.

Geez, what a huge blow this would be for the Bears defense. His loss will put a lot of extra pressure on Urlacher. How do you think he'll respond?

He'll respond well because Urlacher is a great player but you don't lose a Tommy Harris and not suddenly have a hole that needs to be filled that other teams can exploit. Don't be surprised if you see the New Orleans Saints as the NFC Champions gents!

The NFC is becoming a shell of a power conference. The Bears are running into a wall, the Cowboys are clearly the best team at this point. Then again, there's still a month left for their wheels to fall off too.

Re: DT Tommie Harris out for season?

Lovie Smith said that without Tommy Harris, they are like every other team in the NFC. Thats strong words coming from the head coach. Hopefully they can get the rest of the group to step up and play well together....
