Vikings' Sharper, Bears' Grossman settle matters

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Chicago Bears quarterback Rex Grossman smiled and pleaded guilty in front of a roomful of reporters who came at him toting juicy quotes gleaned from a conference call with Vikings strong safety Darren Sharper.

Sharper was right, Grossman admitted. After throwing that 24-yard touchdown pass to beat the Vikings, 19-16, at the Metrodome on Sept. 24, Grossman let loose with the mother of all trash-talking outbursts. Or at least the best one he's ever unleashed.

"I probably said some things that I regret, but the whole game, (some of) their DBs were talking to me, just really getting under my skin a little bit, probably more than I should have allowed it to," said Grossman, whose 9-2 Bears face the 5-6 Vikings on Sunday at Soldier Field. "But they were just yapping the whole game."

Okay, so is it just me, or is Rex Grossman the LAST person on that team who should be talking trash?

At the time he was playing great. He talked trash and backed it up. He should be a little more humble now. He has been playing like crap.

Maybe Rex should be smack talking, maybe that will wake him up so he finally gets to throw off his front foot and not into double coverage. Don't you love how that defense is humble despite everyone in the world knowing how good they really are! All I know is that the Bears are ready to be back home and it will be very cold in Chicago Sunday, bring it on....

Agree with you 100% - Grossman needs to zip his lip and let the guys who carry that team, like Urlacher, do the talking.

I dislike the guy as a QB...but why can't he talk trash?...isn't that an athletes given right?...Anyone ever get onto the fans when they rain boos and a few well chosen words on the players?...does the QB ever get up and slap the hell out of a Lineman doing one of those "happy Sack dances?"...Let the guy be.
