Re: Bears regroup after loss

CHICAGO -- Somewhere deep down, Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith wishes his team were 8-0 going into today's nationally televised game against the 6-2 New York Giants. But Smith has found some affection for his team's current record.
"I try to deal in reality," Smith said. "The facts are this -- we're a 7-1 ball club. We like our record. I like being 7-1."

I am glad they like reality...cause the truth is...they aren't all that good...they have a great defense....and a QB that might or might not show up...he should be saying, after the Cardinals win, we are lucky to be 7-1...

I believe after the G-men are done, Lovie's reality will be dealing with being a 7-2 team.

Come now, Gotham, the Bears are a good team -- certainly no worse than they were last year. They win with defense, and they need their offense to produce some and protect the football (notice when they've struggled is when they turn it over too much). Grossman, regardless what you think of him, is still a big step up from Orton. They still need to upgrade the running game, though. A dominant back would make they all but impossible to defeat.
