Bears Playoff Tickets

Bears Playoff Tickets
People who were fans of the Chicago NFL team dating back to its roots didn't have to wait long for Chicago playoff tickets to become available. The Bears were part of the first playoff game in league history, a 1932 contest between Chicago and the Portsmouth Spartans to determine which would be the National Football League champion for that season. That game was considered an unofficial championship, but league officials thought the concept was so successful that they decided to include an official title-tilt from that season on. And the Bears would become a fixture of sorts in the contest. In fact, for the first 15 seasons the league held a title game, George Halas' team made nine championship game appearances and came away victorious in six of them. Furthermore, in the 1940 title game, the Bears beat the Washington Redskins 73-0, which to this day is the most lopsided victory in professional football history. Quite the impressive run there, don't you think folks?

Bears Playoff Tickets: Super Bowl XX
Of course, the younger generation is probably more familiar with the 1986 season, in which Bears playoff tickets equalled a trip to the Super Bowl for some lucky Chicago football fanatics. In fact, to this day that 1986 Bears team of Walter Payton, Mike Singletary, Dan Hampton, Pro Bowl quarterback Jim McMahon and Super Bowl MVP Richard Dent is considered to be the standard of excellence to which all future Chicago playoff contenders are held. On defense, this Chicago team led the league in several statistical categories, incluing fewest points allowed [198], interceptions [34], fewest total yards allowed [4,135], and fewest rushing yards allowed [1,319]. In addition, the Bears rushing offense was tops in the NFL with over 2,700 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns. Chicago shut out both of their first two playoff opponents (becoming the first team ever to do so) en route to the Super Bowl, which they won handly, beating the New England Patriots, 46-10 as thousands of lucky Bears fans looked on. Some call this the most dominant playoff team in professional football history. Are they right? What do you think?

I think they were. I was too young to know what was going on when the Dolphins were undefeated, and I would have loved to have seen that Bears team play one of the Super Bowl Steeler teams, but as far as one year - Yeah - they were the most dominant team
