Charlotte Bobcats Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Bernie Bickerstaff announced on Tuesday that the team has re-signed guard Matt Carroll, who became an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Matt was one of our offseason priorities and we are glad to have him back,” Bickerstaff said. “He has proven to be the consummate professional on and off the court, and his production has continued to increase since he joined us from the D-League over two years ago.”
The 6-6, 212-pound guard finished 2006-07 with averages of 12.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 72 appearances. In 47 starts, he averaged 13.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists, highlighted by his career-high 27-point performance on December 30, 2006 against the L.A. Lakers in the Bobcats 133-124 triple-overtime win at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.
