Smith missed the Panthers final practice today, and is still being listed as day to day with that strained left hammy. What are the odds that he'll be ready for the Carolina season opener? I for one am starting to have my doubts.

It depends as hammy's can be tricky. However, the chances it will be a nagging injury throughout the year probably are high. Definitely will have an affect on Carolina's year.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Steve Smith remains questionable for the Carolina Panthers game at Minnesota. The league's top receiver last season missed practice again today.

Smith has been out since straining his right hamstring during the club's September fifth practice. Without him in the lineup, the Panthers failed to score a touchdown in their 20-to-6 season-opening loss to Atlanta.
