Re: DeAngelo Williams to return kicks?

The Carolina Panthers may have first-round pick DeAngelo Williams help out on special teams by returning kicks, according to this story. Says special teams coach Danny Crossman, "As long as DeAngelo’s role puts him in a position where he can [return kicks] and he’s not overwhelmed with the offense it will be a good thing for us on special teams." You guys like this idea? I, for one, am all for having your rookies contribute wherever and however they can.

No... a lower level pick sure. I would not risk a feature back on kik returns...plenty of 7th rounders and free agents with speed to do that.
