Re: Steve Smith hamstring injury

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith has tweaked his hamstring, but the news isn't as bad as it could've been. According to this story, "The Carolina Panthers held Steve Smith out of practice Monday after the Pro Bowl wide receiver developed tightness in his hamstring over the weekend...Coach John Fox says the injury is not considered serious." Boy, its good for the Panther fans that Smith's OK. Can you imagine how this team's chances would fall off if without their star wide receiver?

Re: Steve Smith hamstring injury

Well that makes signing Meshawn Johnson a good deal then cuz itll take less pressure off Smith who had a career year in 05 and dont think defenses wont compensate for that. This goes without saying especially if Steve Smith has a hamstring injury. Johnson and Smith look to be one of the better wideout tandem on paper and if Foster can stay healthy I think the Panthers are gonna win the NFC.

Too early to be a real concern...but its worth keeping an eye out for it...it mightbe one of those lingering things that haunts him all season long.

Good point, Gotham. If Smith goes down with the hammy during the season, we may all come back to this thread to see where it all started. For now, though, it looks like it's no big deal and the Panther WR should be good to go.
