Re: Panthers backup QB Chris Weinke

Chris Weinke signed a three-year, $4.5 million contract to stay in Carolina and back up Jake Delhomme, but according to this article, there were some teams who wanted him to come in and compete for starting jobs. Was this the right decision for the ex-FSU QB? Will Weinke someday be a first-string quarterback in the NFL?

A three-year, $4.5 million contract... to sit on the bench and not get hit?...sure...I'd take it...

Weinke actually parallel his baseball signing bonus into a nice windfall...he went to FSU a rich man of sort...so, he is golden any which way.
