Panthers agreed to terms with first-round RB Jonathan Stewart on a five-year contract.
His deal has a base value of $14 million and a maximum value of $20 million. He will get $10.795 million in guarantees. Stewart was already running and hitting Saturday, hours after signing. The team released running back Alex Haynes and linebacker Brandon Jamison to make room on the roster.
