Panthers select Jonathan Stewart

The Carolina Panthers with the 13th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft have selected Oregon RB Jonathan Stewart.

So what do you think of this pick? Good one?

He's got that toe injury and Scout.com has him as the 28th best overall player. This is a stretch, I think.

Re: Panthers select Jonathan Stewart

Can you say Deshun Foster all over again? UCLA star injured but will contribute when healthy. Right. Tim Biakubutuka another injured RB another bust. What is it with the Panthers taking seconds on hurt players? NONE OF THEM HAVE EVER WORKED OUT! Gee sorry if I'm just a little frustrated.

I know I need to go down to Jerry's house and apply for the GM under the new Carolina Panther's coach Bill "Da Chin" Cower.

Without the toe turf injury I think it would have been solid. With the injury he would of slipped into round two. Still, he could provide a good one-two punch with Williams.

One thing is for sure the Panthers know how to avoid talented players. I know the draft would have been way different with Bill Polian calling the shots. He at least had the ability to spot talent. Hurney only spots points to the opposing teams. This will be the last year for FOX/HURNEY good riddance! If we are lucky maybe we can play for a top five pick.

Re: Panthers select Jonathan Stewart

The Panthers Staff is NOTORIUS for horrible draft picks. Remember Jason Peter-1? Neither does anybody else remember a DT who spent more time on the injured reserve. How about other Carolina Picks like Shawn King-2, Blake Brockermeyre-1, Mike Senters, Andrew Peterson, Steve Strahan, Jerry Colquitt, Michael Reed, Dan Morgan-1, Timinga Biatubuka-1 Winslow Oliver, JC Price, Noberto Garrido, Emmanuel McDaniel, Marquette Smith, Scott Greene, Donnelle Baker, Kerry Hicks, Kinnon Tatum. Tarek Saleh, Matt Finkes, Chuck Wiley, Mitch Marrow, Donald Hayes, Jerry Jensen, Damien Richardson, Villimi Maumau, Jim Turner, Chris Terry, Hannibal Navies, Robert Daniel, Tony Booth, Leander Jordan, Alvin McKinley, Jeno James, Lester Towns, Chris Wenkie, Jarrod Cooper, Dee Brown, Louis Williams, Mike Roberg, DeShaun Foster-2, Dante Wesley, Randy Fansani, Kyle Johnson, Keith Heinrich, Peter Campion, Brad Franklin, Bruce Nelson-2, Mike Siedman, Ricky Manning Jr, Colin Branch, Walter Young, Casey Moore, Drew Carter, Sean Tuffts, Michael gaines, Eric Shelton-2, Evan Mathis, Attiyyah Ellison, Stefon Lefores, Adam Seward, Geoff Hangartner, Ben Emanuel, Jovan Haye, Joe Berger, James Anderson, Rashad Butler, Nate Salley, Jeff King, Will Montgomery, Stanley McColver, Dwayne Jarret-2, Charles Johnson, Rhyne Robinson, Dante Rosario, Tim Shaw, CJ Wilson, Ray Carruth-1, Kerry Collins-1 the list goes on and on... History is not kind to the losers. I think Jonathon Stewart is a total bust he played for a so-so team in a crappy conference and got hurt? Please....

The Panthers should have taken two O-Linemen with those first two picks. Then they could have addressed the issue with a FB Jacob Hester who will now go on to San-Deigo and be a special player. Again They could have had QB Matt Flynn but let him go to Green Bay. With thier 3rd third round pick they took a TE. After that it is pretty much a crap shoot although since they had 3 seventh round picks I thought they should have taken the following Wallace Gilberry DT, DJ Hall WR, Simeon Castille CB. But hey what do we the fans know? We know how to spot real talent.

Call me a pessimist but The Alabama Crimson Tide will have more wins this season than the Carolina Panthers. How long before Bill Cowher is introduced as the Head Coach?
