If I were the Panthers GM

I would sign Jason Taylor DT Miami. I would sign Shawn Alexander if I didn't trade up for Darren McFadden RB or get Rashad Mendenhall RB. I would draft Jacob Hester FB and Matt Flynn QB and I would draft a offensive lineman. Lastly I would find a way to make Jeremy Shockey TE Giants a Panther. Then I think we would have a decent shot this season assuming everyone was healthy.

I hate to break it to you Stoney, you won't get McFadden, Shockey, and Taylor, you would have to give up a first rounder to get Taylor, which would eliminate trading up, and you would have to give up a second rounder to get Shockey, which would also likely be in the McFadden package. So getting those three would be impossible, you could get one, maybe two.

Unless maybe you got someone to bite on 2009 or 2010 pick, but that's a big gamble, morgaging the future on the here and now.

Re: If I were the Panthers GM

You do know that Taylor can be acquired for a future second. Package this year's first and a future pick and they can get Mcfadden. Shockey is a little different I hope they can find a way to get him.

Not according to the Dolphins, they want a first rounder.

Thought I heard Parcells say it's a first-rounder or nothing for Taylor.
We'll see, though, I guess. You can only believe half of what you hear come draft day. If that.

Re: If I were the Panthers GM

I would tell Parcells want in one hand and crap in the other see which one fills up first. Taylor is always talking retirement at 34 that scares off a bunch of teams.

That is the Tuna's idea, he doesn't want to give Taylor up, so he asks for a lot and if anyone bites, then he gets another first round pick to work with and loses Taylor.

That said, I think if they're serious about rebuilding in Miami, you've got to deal him.

I would give them my second and seventh for 2009. Let them mull it over ...
