Panthers release fumble prone RB

The Panthers released Deshaun Foster on Friday. This cleared $4.75 million in salary cap space and opened the door for DeAngelo Williams to be the team's featured back.

Re: Panthers release fumble prone RB

Pretty much expected, from what I've heard both on TV and from the Panthers fans around here. Who will they go with at backup?

After Williams, not much rings any bells.
This is what I found, and I dont know if any have been let go up to this point: Decori Birmingham
Troy Fleming (FB)
Nick Goings
Alex Haynes

NIck Goings had a really good season a few years ago when the two RBs ahead of him got hurt. I believe he had a 1000 yd rushing season.

Oh yeah, forgot all about Nick Goings. He's got some potential. If I remember correctly, he's a big of a bigger back, right? Sledgehammer type?

Re: Panthers release fumble prone RB

I like DeAngelo Williams a lot, if Goings steps up or the Panthers compliment Williams with another back they'll have a good running attack.

Yea, he is a bruiser RB. He always reminded me of Ironhead when he ran.

This will make Williams a fine pick up in fantasy...

What teams do you think will try making an offer for Deshaun?

Cool Re: Panthers release fumble prone RB

So many RB's go injured last year, you really need a pretty decent 2nd back, these days.
