Panthers sign 4 years contract extention with Harris

The Carolina Panthers have signed starting strong safety Chris Harris to a four-year contract extension through the 2012 season.
One of the team's most consistent defenders in 2007, when he posted 97 tackles and a remarkable eight forced fumbles, Harris will earn about $3 million per year
The Panthers also re-signed left tackle Travelle Wharton to a six-year deal Thursday.
Harris, a former Chicago Bears part-time starter, figures to bank about $5.5 million to $6 million in the first two years.
