Kris Jenkins next on chopping block?

Jenkins might be next to go. The Panthers tried to trade him last year before the season but couldnt get a first round draft pick in return so he came back and produced. This create an underlying current here. Jenkins has made it clear he is not a big fan of living in Charlottesville and that he loves the Washington area where he spends his offseasons.
The Panthers can cut him this year and save money. It would free up to $3 million in salary cap space. He is scheduled to receive $1 million in roster bonus in March.

Re: Kris Jenkins next on chopping block?

Kris is a bright spot on the team but I have a feeling he will go to Washington or Baltimore and become a superstar.

Cool Re: Kris Jenkins next on chopping block?

Can we really afford to give up so many vets during this offseason?

Re: Kris Jenkins next on chopping block?

No we cannot afford to do a youth movement but Hurney is in fear of losing his job. Last season he did nothing and it almost cost him his job. This season is a make or break season for both Fox and Hurney so they have to do something but I don't think bringing Moose back will do any good. I certainly don't believe letting Kris go is the answer he has the heart to stand up and call the players quitters I like that!

Re: Kris Jenkins next on chopping block?

To me it was like with Jake out they didnt have a team leader, Carr? LOL not. Maybe Vinny lead a bit before he got hurt, but I feel thats what Jenkins did when he spoke out last season, he was trying to take the lead give the guys some direction, wake them up so to speak......I hope we keep Jenkins myself.....

Well Fox/Hurney does it again they trade a team leader for a 3rd and 5th round draft picks. WHY oh WHY didn't they trade JULIUS "I DON'T GIVE A CRAP" PEPPERS? I would have much rather seen them trade him than to lose Kris Jenkins.

Because Pepper is still a very good player.

Really? I sure didn't see it on the field. I didn't hear him challenge his team either. I think he is a overpaid underachiever.

He had one bad year, dont throw him out yet. And he just is not a team leader. Neither is DeMarcus Ware but I dont think that makes him any less a player.
Give Peppers another year, and hopefully with some decent guys around him and then see what happens. I think you are writing him off just way too soon.
