Not sure Carolina's any closer to the playoffs than Washington, Stoney.

Nothing's changed. I heard it again this morning. They're not even listening to offers, which I believe is a mistake.

I dont think they were listing to offers from the beggining. Just becuase Chad said he wanted out, the media started making all these rumors.

Re: Should Panthers make offer for Chad Johnson?

We need improvement on the Off. line to protect whom ever QB's this season. Give the QB plenty of time to throw the pass so he wont be running for his life every play like last season. We need to can Carr; with him you lose good line or not. I think the wake up call has been issued and The Panthers staff is on the ball this off season. I do think that if they have another dismal season we wont have the same coaching staff no longer.......

Chad wants to get out of Cincinatti [can't say I blame him] if he keeps causing trouble will the Bengals deal him?

No, they just got one first round pick (and possibly a second Round 1 pick), offered for Chad and turned it down.

Well, for better or worse, they're willing to let him sit out rather than grant him the trade he wants. It makes for an interesting debate. Personally, I think rather than try and harm the player, you've got to do what's best for your team, your business. Right now, that's trading Ocho Cinco for the draft picks. Unless they're trying to force Washington to improve their offer, I think this is a boneheaded move.

Actually, it wasnt quite a done deal. It was a 1st for this year and a conditional 3rd round next year. The 3rd round could have moved to a second providing Johnson and the Redskins met certain performance standards.
