Playing for picks trade Smith and Peppers for picks.

This will sound horrible but the truth is we need to go in a totally different direction. Trade Julius "I don't care" Peppers send him to the Dolphins. We need Tim Tebow assuming he comes out. I would love to keep Smitty but he too would be good trade bait. The Panthers need to get younger and quick. What we need most is a good GM that can spot talent. I am so tired of Mark Richardson and his picks. Yes your daddy owns the team but you know nothing about football and you personally got Bill Polian fired. That was the beginning of the slide for the Panthers. It seemed like they were after every has been player on the free market. We need to spot the talent so we are drafting like Polian does. Every year he drafts after us and does a better job than we do and his team wins more games. HMMMMMmmm.

So we play the blame game.... next it will be coach Fox. It isn't his fault. It is the GM's fault and Owner's fault. Frankly they have ripped off PSL [Pretty Stupid License] holder's for several years. We need to do something different instead of holding on to the past. Get Tebow and a McFadden and get the team back on track playing smashmouth power football. It isn't that hard. Heck even Ray Charles saw you were headed for disaster. If you don't change it and quick you will be moving the team and blaming the fans for not supporting a losing team like Cleveland or Cincinatti does.

You want to trade one of the best pass rushers in the game?

If I were an owner, I'd fire you.

If I could get two first round picks for him possibly get Tebow and McFadden I would do it in a heartbeat.

See, that why you are sitting at home watching the game on TV and not on the sidelines coaching. Smith and Peppers are the glue that holds that team together.

Well where have they been all the other games? Besides you trade them now and get a bunch of first round picks and rebuild your team. The Dallas blueprint works look at what Jimmy Johnson got for Herschel Walker. We could get the same thing trading with the Dolphins right now. They are going to suck for a number of years. The same thing can be said for the Jets trade and get thier #1s and get the players we need for the future of the franchise.

So you are saying to get rid of our two best players who by they way are 28 (Steve Smith) and 27 (Julius Peppers)? Get rid of two proven commodities in exchange for a draft pick that could end up being the next Ryan Leaf or Curtis Enis. You risk way too much by doing that. With today's players, you are guaranteed nothing with the draft. There are plenty of great players that either went late in the draft (Tom Brady, Marques Colston, Zach Thomas, Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, Joe Horn, Marc Bulger, Terrell Davis, Stephen Davis, etc., etc., etc.) or did not even get drafted (Antonio Gates, Warren Moon, John Randle, Adam Vinatieri, Kurt Warner, Rod Smith, Priest Holmes, etc., etc., etc.).

Point being, getting rid of our best offensive and defensive players who are still in their primes would be a bad idea for our teams. We first and foremost need to acquire a top-tier quarterback because I just don't think that Delhomme can cut it anymore. Or take this off season to work with Matt Moore who looked really good against a very good Seattle defense today.

Stoney, I'm not saying what you are saying is wrong, that's the beauty of this world, we are entitled to our opinions, but my opinion is that we would be shooting ourselves in the foot by trading our best players to prepare for the future when they are a part of our future.

And of these players how many played for the Panthers we missed out on them all because of a bad front office that listened to Mark Richardson? Of those mentioned we got Stephen Davis when he was old and wore out. I know just a few things about players. I am telling you if and I say if Tebow comes out this year he would make the probowl by his second year. He is the real deal and would make a great replacement for Delhomme. I think we need to be more like Pittsburg in finding jewels in the rough. We need to quit trying to pick up leftovers calling a Reggie White type has been a crowd favorite when in fact he was over the hill and overpaid. We just need to move in a youthful direction and get there fast. Besides a QB makes or breaks a team.

Ask your friends if they would trade Julius Peppers for Darren McFadden and Tim Tebow straight up and see what they say. There are plenty of guys in the draft who would make better choices than having a a star who cannot win you the games to get into the playoffs.

No, I wouldn't. Tebow isn't really an NFL QB he is more of a goal line halfback. Plus he can't come out anyway.

I think something got lost in translation. Trade Peppers for the Dolphins #1 this year and next year. Then use these picks to fill in holes and give the Panthers a much needed boost.
