The Carolina Panthers have put LB Dan Morgan on injured reserve.

According to the Associated Press, "Morgan hasn't played since he partially tore his right Achilles' tendon in Carolina's win in Atlanta on Sept. 23. Despite being in a walking boot for a couple weeks, Morgan had hoped to return this season... But it was determined Tuesday that Morgan will undergo surgery within the week."

Morgan must have his own area of the IR since he tends to end up there every year. I say it's time to say goodbye and let Beason stay at the Middle LB position.

Yeah, I think you're right - I can't remember him making it through a single entire season.

I just pulled up his stats and he has never played more than 13 games in a season (2005). In 2004, he played in 12 games, had 111 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 2 ints. He also was selected to the Pro Bowl that year. He played in 1 game in 2006, and 3 game this year.

In the years he has played in more than half the season (5 years), he has averaged 73.2 tackles a year which is not half bad.

When he's healthy he's good, but he has never been fully healthy.
