| Charlotte, NC (AHN) - Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Kris Jenkins skipped a voluntary team workout Wednesday and is upset with his current contract. Jenkins, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, is in search of a new deal, but agent Tony Paige said that wasn't the reason for his no-show. "He's just not in position to be there right now," Paige told AP. "He has kids and business to attend to in Maryland. It's not that big of a deal." The Panthers tried to trade Jenkins in the offseason, but no offers were made. General manager Marty Hurney said Jenkins gave no indication that he would miss Wednesday's workout. "Do we wish he was here? Sure," Hurney said. "It's a voluntary session and he chose not to be here. It's all we can do." | Re: Kris Jenkins skips workouts Well, some good news for Panthers fans. According to the Gaston Gazette, "Despite missing all three weeks of the team’s voluntary workouts in June, three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kris Jenkins will be present when the Carolina Panthers report to training camp on Friday, his agent confirmed over the weekend."
