Kris Jenkins gone...

Mr. Potential never lived up to it except one game in his career against Tampa Bay. Now Carolina will be lucky to get a third round draft pick out of him in a trade.

Re: Kris Jenkins gone...

Hey why don't we trade Jenkins to Miami for Ricky Williams?

What's the deal with Jenkins, Stoney. I haven't heard. Has he asked for a trade?

He and his agent decided that Carolina isn't as fine as it could be. So he headed to Maryland to do his workouts. Basically his off the field problems culminated in his drinking problem. The guy is bi-polar and has issues. When he is on he is unstoppable but he hasn't been on since he got injured. He balloned up to 400 lbs and Carolina said enough. I wish they could get more for him than a 3rd round pick. That's why I think they need to trade him for Ricky Williams.

Thumbs down Re: Kris Jenkins gone...

The Panthers have already been offered two thirds by the Broncos that combined are approximately worth a mid-2nd rounder (This according to the chart NFL.com has posted recently.) Also, Ricky Williams to Carolina would never fly...ever since the Carruth incident, the Panthers have been VERY concerned with character, and I don't think they'd be willing to stick their necks out for Ricky, reformed character or not. This is particularly true given that they have two highly-paid RBs on the roster, including a 1st-rounder in only his 2nd year! I will admit, however, that Williams has a running style far better suited to Fox's preferred offense.
As for the actual trade itself, I do not support the notion of trading Jenks...he may have been fading performance-wise and injury-prone over the past couple years, but he's still the best DT we have, and these trade rumors have apparently inspired him to get into decent shape. I didn't even know he knew what a personal trainer WAS. He's more of an impact guy than Kemo or Lewis will ever be, and while his value now is decent, he still wasn't playing his best, and good depth at a position isn't a reason to make a trade in and of itself.

Jenkins at times has spurts of greatness. He could be good.
