Panthers fire offensive coordinator Henning

The Carolina Panthers fired offensive coordinator Dan Henning and two other assistants Monday.
Offensive line coach Mike Maser and defensive backs coach Rod Perry also were fired.

It seems like this year, a ton of assistants are being scapegoated by the head coaches. Am I wrong?

It does look to be that way. The Giants have done this, now the Panthers. I really think Fox is a great coach, but honestly, why as an OC would you continue to run the 3rd down and 7 draw play every single time.

Not only them. Didn't Tampa fire a coordinator. Then you had Billick firing Fassel during the season.

And word yet on who will be the next Panthers offensive coordinator? Rumors? Wishful thinking?

I don't really know. There was a lot of rumors that Chudinski from the Chargers was going to take the UNC job as OC. He might would be a good person for it. He's currently the TE coach. But if the OC there get's a head coaching job, he might would step up.

Well, what about Jim Fassell? I mean, he and Fox have worked together before, so it kind of makes sense.

I think the Cardinals fired a coordinator. I know the Browns fired Carthon as the Offensive coordinator. I believe they just fired his replacement too. They overhauled the whole coaching staff.
