Panthers vs. Saints

Even though the Carolina Panthers have been the great disappointment of the NFC this season, John Fox's club can still qualify for the postseason. It all starts with a win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. If that happens, and the Giants and Packers both lose, then Carolina is playoff bound. So do you think it'll happen? Can the Panthers beat New Orleans?

Breakdown of Panthers game

The Carolina Panthers will know their postseason chances by the time they take the field at the Superdome this afternoon.

Regardless of the implications, there will be still plenty at stake when they celebrate New Year’s Eve in New Orleans.

For quarterback Jake Delhomme, whose status for the game has been upgraded to “probable,” it’s one last chance to show the world that he’s not at fault for his team’s underachieving tendencies.

For the team, it’s a chance to put together back-to-back non-losing seasons for the first time in franchise history.

And then of course, with just a little bit of help, there’s always that big picture and the chance to make amends in the postseason, where everyone’s record resets to 0-0.

Re: Panthers vs. Saints

Well, it's a little late for a team to play pretty good. They ran the ball better and Jake complete 23 of 27 for 207 yards, 2 tds, and no int's. Man, why now?

This has been the year of disappointment for the panthers fans, so much hype and little to back it up with.

Time to get ready for next year.
