Carolina plays Tampa Bay in a showdown of the 3rd and 4th place teams in the NFC South. Hard to believe, isn't it? The Bucs have had a tough year, losing QB Chris Simms to injury early and finding themselves unable to maintain any sort of a rushing attack whatsoever. The Panthers, meanwhile, may be the biggest disappointment in the NFC. They were a lot of pundits' Super Bowl picks, but currently they are just 4-4 and have dropped two straight. The good news is that Carolina should get over .500 with a win on Sunday. The bad news is that they still won't look anything even remotely close to a playoff contender throught the first 10 weeks of the 2006 season.
