Can you have a must-win game in Week 3? If so, this is one. The Carolina Panthers are winless, as are their opponents, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The loser of this game falls to 0-3. As Panthers safety Mike Minter is quoted as saying the above article: "If you go 0-3, you know you're in some deep water. I won't say we're frantic right now, but there is a sense of urgency in our locker room."

Can Carolina win this game, and start the process of salvaging their season?

Wow this ballgame was back and forth. It finally cooled down with the Panthers kicker John Kasay kicking the game winning 46-yard field goal with just a few seconds on the clock.

Panthers win 26-24. And Steve Smith caught seven passes for 116 yards.

About time Mr. Smith decided to show up for a game. Carolina's 1-2 now, and they're not dead yet. 0-3 would've been an awful big hole for them to dig their way out of. How did the running game look for the Panthers?
