Isbister's in Carolina

I always loved his name: isbister.
The forward signed a $600,000 one year deal, and this apparently wraps up their off season deals.
Not bad. With Cory Stillman out (surgery on right shoulder), isbister adds scoring power.

Guess what? Anothe ex-Isle. What kind of scoring power, Blue? The most goals he ever had was 10. He's a big guy- 6'4" and MIlbury was afraid to trade him for fear that he'd have another Bertuzzi situation but he just never produced. He was finally dealt to Edmonton along with Raffi Torres for Janni Ninaama...Isbister was no great loss but Torres is turning out to be a good player - he was great in the playoffs last year. Another great Milbury trade.

Re: Isbister's in Carolina

I'd say he's some offense for them - 6'4"'s good, and if, after he's made his way down to the other end, he scores a few, all the better.
He's no Tucker, but who is?

Re: Isbister's in Carolina

I remember his days on the Island.

Personally, I like Matt Lindgren the best out of that bunch for some reason.

Cool Re: Isbister's in Carolina

Laviolette coached him in NY so knows what he's getting. During timeouts at Islander games, they ask players questions and they play their answers on the scoreboard. Example: What's your favorite television show?...and they show them answering....I was at a game where they asked who is your most annoying teamate and almost all of them answered "Isbister.".....Except Isbister..I forgot who he answered.

Cool Re: Isbister's in Carolina

Some guys just irk everyone. That's just their personality. Jim Leyritz was the same way on the Yankees. Both Joe Torre, Buck Showalter and half of the team couldn't stand Leyritz. He was always chirping at how good he was. Don Mattingly used to call him Mr. F.....

Re: Isbister's in Carolina

I can't imagine being on a team with both Terrell Owens and Barry Bonds. I think I would personally "release" myself from the organization before the season even starts!

Cool Re: Isbister's in Carolina

Someone I know who is around the Islanders all the time (during the season - not off season) told me that everybody hates Jason Blake. I guess there are guys like that on every team. Think of every team you ever played on. There were always people you didn't like....It's no different just because they're professional.

I completely agree with, ThePundit.

Someone mean in High School/college will still be someone mean in the Professional Leagues.

Jason Blake is my favorite player on the Islanders. He is really fast on the ice and his hair is unique. Is he the only blonde in hockey?
