Mark Recchi is expected to waive his no-trade clause today so the Pittsburgh Penguins can send him to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Niklas Nordgren, Krystofer Kolanos and a second-round pick in 2007.

As a Flyer fan, I don't like this move one bit.

Done deal. For a defenseman and a minor leaguer Pitt gave up the offensive gun to Carolina. Is this move for security to protect the Canes from injuries or is Recchi filling a hole in one of the lines? I guess from what I hear he is replacing Cole who got injured last week. The 'Canes beat the Rangers without Cole but couldnt get past the Flyers. They don't play the Flyers again until the playoffs.

Yeah, they're just filling the hole that Cole's injury created. Rex still has great hands and can be a total pest on the ice. Plus, he's played with Brand'Amour and Williams before. Should be a good fit.
