Eric Cole collected a hat trick today in Carolina's 5-0 blanking of Washington...


RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Erik Cole scored three goals and Cam Ward posted his first regular-season shutout, leading the Carolina Hurricanes to a 5-0 victory over the Washington Capitals on Thursday night. Eric Staal and Trevor Letowski also scored, Scott Walker had two assists and Ward stopped 20 shots. The Conn Smythe Trophy winner after he led Carolina to the Stanley Cup title last season, Ward had two shutouts in the 2006 playoffs.

All I can say is Eric Cole is a proud graduate of my current school Clarkson University and we are thrilled that he has represented us so well and even after winning the Cup continues to show what being a Golden Knight truly means

He had another couple of goals against the Islanders last night. It was like, he was moving one speed and the rest of the players were moving in another

I like the kid a lot...got his rookie card in a box I opened for Christmas...though the Zetterberg autograph card and the Mario Lemieux jersey card, not to mention the Adam Morrison Autograph card dwarfted the Cole card...

Especially after the broken neck last year, and being out for alot of the post season.
I remember him on a line with battaglia, who has had some huge ups and downs and is now a Leafs and flourishing (although he's no Cole).
