In a generally depressed motorsports economy heading into the 2009 season, ThorSport Racing and Johnny Sauter are ecstatic over the multi-year deal the driver signed with the growing Camping World Truck Series team based in Sandusky, Ohio.

Johnny is the type of driver the truck series needs. Comes from a racing family, is unpretentious and when he is in a good car it's either checkers or wreckers.

Shelby Howard never did much with ThorSport (only one top ten, or something like that?). I think Johnny will do better.

I'm impressed with what Duke Thorson has done in spite of this depressed economy: increased his staff and improved the team's facilities!

Those two facts combined with having 2 pretty good drivers on the payroll and a bunch of new trucks means, to me anyway, that ThorSport is gonna be a force in CWTS this year. All they need is a sponsor for Johnny's truck, but I suspect that's coming.

Agreed. What Thorson and Crafton have done together is pretty impressive. Only one win but a bunch of "Couldof's."
