Sauter to Thorsport Racing?

Hearing that Johnny Sauter toured the Thorsport Racing shop in Sandusky, Ohio last week. It's not clear if an indicator that there may be a potential driver change for the #13 team?
UPDATE: While the news out of most NASCAR racing teams this off-season is about layoffs and down-sizing, it's quite the opposite at ThorSport Racing. The team, which fields the #13 and #88 entries in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series from its Sandusky, Ohio headquarters, is looking for experienced personnel to help expand its program in 2009. ThorSport ventured into the NASCAR Nationwide Series for the first time in 2008 and expects to enter more Nationwide events in the coming season as well as continuing with its two-truck effort.

I'm happy to hear this for Johnny if it really happens. It's also good to hear that someone is expanding in these poor economic times.

Good move for Johnny to move into the Truck Series. He's a hard-charging driver who puts a high priority on winning and doesn't play the political game especially well. I wish he and Thorsport all the best.

Ditto. Johnny is a great fit for the Truck series.

Yep. As Admiral David Glasgow Farragut said, in a naval battle on Mobile Bay, "Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead!" NA__AR needs more of that philosphy in their drivers. Johnny has it.

Re: Sauter to Thorsport Racing?

my only problem with Johnny in CWTS is that his brother, Tim, is there also. when those two get together on the track there's lots of crashing and banging .. it's like they see nothing but each other and are determined to beat him no matter what. anyone who has watched them in BGN knows that.

luckily Johnny hasn't run many CWTS races (about 2-3 a year for the past 5 or 6 years) and Tim hasn't run Cup so truck/Cup fans don't know that little tid bit.

I know what you speak of RD, but I don't think the regulars in Truck series will allow to much of their tunnel vision. One to many wrecks do to "their racin" and they both could be parked by the rest of the field.
