| Well, Wasn't THAT Special? Once more the CTS will give up the best race of the weekend. If they don't Cup Lite and/or Cup will really have to pull something out of their posteriors! Benson leads Hornaday by 6 points when the flag falls. Hornaday wrecks on lap one and spends thirty-plus laps behind the wall. The points race is over, right? Wrong. Benson bounced off Hornaday and did minor damage to his truck, then later in the race he wrecks and goes behind the wall! First Hornaday comes out in a truck which looks like it a bodyman's nightmare. Then benson returns in a truck which looks like it fell out of a tree and hit every limb on the way down. The race ends with Harvick winning on old tires with a good lead and Shrub finishing second on new tires and not enough time. Hornaday finishes one place ahead of Benson, picking up three points on the night and they go to Homestead with a three point difference! (Without a playoff format? How can this be?) Of special note was the Roush (read Ford) team #99's crew members immediately jumping in and assisting Harvick's #33 (read Chevrolet) team fix Hornaday's truck and getting it back on the track so he wouldn't lose points to Benson (read: Toyota). I don't see this as Roush being altruistic and just a nice guy; I see it as evidence of just how much he dislikes Toyota.

| Re: Well, Wasn't THAT Special? WOW was all I could say. That was one heck of a race. I don't see cup even coming close to putting on one like it. I never would have thought with the way Hornaday's truck looked, that he would end the night just 3 points behind Benson. Things are gonna be great at Homestead. I already can't wait for it. I know Roush's crew helping was to get him back in the points race against Toyota. But I sure was glad they did it. I like Benson, but I like Hornaday alittle bit more. |

| Re: Well, Wasn't THAT Special? Yes, yes , yes to all of you. Great to see them coming out of the shoot on lap one going for the gold. Sort of a mistake on Hornaday's part but it all worked out in the end. New man in the #2 next week and you can bet that anyone who likes "racing" will be watching the Homestead race. |

| Re: Well, Wasn't THAT Special? That was Erik Darnell's #99 (Ford) crew working hard to get Hornaday's #33 (Chevrolet) back in the game. I don't know if it was ever stated but my personal feeling is that Jack ordered them to do it solely because Benson drives a Toyota, and it's well documented his feelings toward the Toyota camp. Altruism has never, to my knowledge, been one of Roush's strong points. |
