Will it still be CTS in 2009?

Any word on sponsor for the Craftsman Truck Series? Was it announced and I was under a rock? Or is it going to be a sponsorless series next year?

There is rumor it will be the Camping World and RV Series next year.... but haven't seen any more evidence confirming that.

I haven't seen anything definite either.

Question about CW &RV: Are they overextending? They're dropping a butt-load of money into NA__AR, via BGNN sponsorship, KHI sponsorship plus how many races have they put their name on this season? Putting their name on CTS would be great. But can they?

Here are some facts, as I have read them:
  • We're in an economy which isn't awful but it's bad enough that people are cutting back on luxuries, which includes RV, motor coaches and long, extended vacations.
  • Looking at CW's financials, they have put the bulk of their future in RV rentals and service. With the current economy, who successful will this be?
  • Camping World is entwined with AGI Affinity, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AGI. (It owns rights to the "Good Sam" franchise and owns RV sites around the country) Anyone who have even a detached knowledge of the financial news gets a chill whenever AGI is mentioned. Right now I don't see this as a formula for success.

Sorry, but Camping World is beginning to give me the same feeling Alex Meshkin did when he came bopping out of the Silicon Valley to try and become the Joe Gibbs of the CTS, with the help of Toyota. I'm afraid they have Stolichnaya tastes with [soon to be] a Dark Eyes budget. (For you non-vodka lovers out there, that roughly translates to Champagne to beer)

But, if they can manage it, it'd undoubtedly be a massive help to a great racing series.

I would think that if they did take over sponsorship they would not sponsor many if any races at all next year, and the same with car sponsorship.

There was something to that effect mentioned on Jayski.

I just hope SOMEBODY good sponsors it... I'd hate to see it get discontinued due to lack of sponsorship.
