Driver pulling out of the dega race because he could not "handle it"...

Listened Tradin Paint on xm radio yesterday and Chocolate Meyers was interviewing Landon Cassil about the truck race at Talladega. They were asking him to explain the intensity of running that kinda of race. Landon said that he was not going to mention the name but there was one driver that pulled into the pits and said "can't do it". Would anyone have any ideas who it could have been?

I'd have to see some proof of the accusation. But, my first guess would be Norm Benning.

Norm is somewhere north of 50 years old and though he's been kicking around the fringes of NA__AR for a long time, I don't remember him having any super fast super speedway starts where he lasted more than a handful of laps.

I wouldn't be surprised if, as they were coming down for the green flag and Benning, knowing he doesn't have a competitive piece of equipment, thought to himself, "Self, why the Hell are you doing this?"

Hey, Talladega is the track where Bobby Issac heard a voice in his helmet tell him that if he kept racing he was going to die, so he pulled into the pits and retired as he climbed out of his Charger. Maybe Benning heard the same little voice?

Don't know which one it would be. But there are probably several that should have.
