| RB Marshawn Lynch- Heisman Hopeful Marshawn Lynch, RB for the California Golden Bears, is being considered for the Heisman Trophy. This is given to the best overall player in the country. I have seen that Las Vegas doesn't give Lynch much of a chance giving him 25 to 1 odds of winning the award. Does anyone think, besides me, that Marshawn has a better than most chance of winning the award?

| Re: RB Marshawn Lynch- Heisman Hopeful I'm excited about his potential. According to what I read the other day, Lynch ran for the third highest total in Bears history in 2005, and that was despite missing all or part of three games. Imagine if he's healthy for an entire season; its quite possible that he will set a new California single-season rushing record. If that happens, he's definitely a Heisman finalist, at least.

| Re: RB Marshawn Lynch- Heisman Hopeful I'd bet Marshawn would be held under 100 yards against last season's front 7. This year however I'm not too sure. I have a feeling he'd better get his yards early because the Vol’s 6 new starters will be adjusting rapidly. I don't think it's going to work in Lynch's favor to play UT in an opener. Though getting a tough defense out of the way early and while they’re developing is a good thing. Being outplayed by the relatively unknown opposition takes away from those Heisman votes. That’s right; my prediction for today’s game is that Arian Foster will be the leading rusher at game’s end. Beyond that, I hope Marshawn has a great season, starting tomorrow.

| Re: RB Marshawn Lynch- Heisman Hopeful Lynch had 74 yards rushing. That was better than Forsett’s 1. Heck, it was better than Cal’s 64 total rushing yards! Way to go Marshawn! He had 22 receiving yards too. I was wrong though. Foster only had 69 yards. UT had 8 players to rush for 216 yards total though. I didn’t expect Foster to come out so early. Marshawn is a great back. I don't think anyone else would've had over 50 yards last night. |

| Re: RB Marshawn Lynch- Heisman Hopeful Well, Cal is playing a 12 game season. I don't know how long other team's seasons are. If most of them are 11, I think that this could be a throw-away game for them. Of course, most of them voters are from the East, so Marshawn may not gat a fair shake. |

| Marshawn Lynch Named a Semifinalist for Doak Walker Award California junior Marshawn Lynch has been named a semifinalist for the 2006 Doak Walker Award which goes to the nation's top running back. This marks the 10th national award for which a Golden Bear player of coach has been named a semifinalist. Lynch is leading the Pac-10 in rushing yards (109.0 per game), touchdowns (13, tied with teammate DeSean Jackson) and all-purpose yards (145.6 per game). The Oakland product has recorded a Cal record 16 100-yard rushing games in his career. Last week, with 102 yards against Arizona, he became just the second player in school history to record two 1,000-yard rushing seasons. He needs 36 yards to become the fourth Golden Bear to rush for 3,000 career yards. Marshawn Lynch Named a Semifinalist for Doak Walker Award |
