Re: Can Joe Ayoob lead the Cal Bears to the promised land?

Longshore is slated to start I think. It shouldn't matter who the QB is if things go the way I Cal plans. Cal just wants to run to ball. If they have any success, it's all they'll do. Can you blame them?

Nate Longshore is a pretty good QB. I agree taht the passing game will be helped by Lynch.

True. I first thought they would put this early game on the shoulders of Lynch. Y'know, limit mistakes, control the tempo and let keep Lynch in the spot light.
I'm not so sure lately. I really don't have a good idea as to what Cal is about to bring to Knoxville. Balance isn't what I was hoping for, but it could very well be what UT gets.

Well, Ayoob did better than Longshore did in the game, even tried to make it a bit scarry for the Vols. Ayoob starts the next game.

Re: Can Joe Ayoob lead the Cal Bears to the promised land?

Ayoob did look better and he sparked the offense. His numbers weren’t very good though. I’ll not take anything away from either of them; UT’s D came ready to play! No drop-off at all from last season that I could tell! Home Field was finally a factor as well!
Cal’s first play really worried me. If they would’ve given Lynch more carries, it would’ve been a much closer game. He was on the verge of breaking one every time he got the ball. IMO Cal should’ve been more patient with the running game. That was my first time seeing Lynch, he is awesome. He’ll get his numbers this year.

Thanks for the vote of confidence OFV! I think Marshawn will get better numbers against Minnesota, along with Ayoob starting.
