| Cal Football Sends Seven to NFL Combine BERKELEY - More than 300 of the top NFL prospects will descend on Indianapolis this week as the annual NFL Scouting Combine opens. With coaches, executives, scouts and medical personnel from all 32 NFL teams in attendance, the combine has become the all-important event leading up to the NFL Draft. Players will go through a series of tests which will measure them physically, mentally and medically. The California football team has seven players who have earned invites to the event. The Golden Bears who earned invitations to the combine are safety Thomas DeCoud, running back Justin Forsett, offensive lineman Mike Gibson, wide receiver DeSean Jackson, wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins, punter Andrew Larson and tight end Craig Stevens.
