Tedford impressed by Cal running backs
Sounds like the running game really caught head coach Jeff Tedford's attention during yesterday's Golden Bears scrimmage. According to CalBears.com, "Freshman Shane Vereen once again displayed quick bursts through the running lanes, while redshirt freshman Tracy Slocum also found room to run for productive gains... 'We have a good crew of running backs,' said Tedford. 'Coming into camp, we wanted to see how our running back depth was, because we've always been very fortunate to have a stable of backs. We don't have any backup right now that has had game-time, but it is great to see these young guys do a good job.'"

Golden Bears have first Double-Day Session on Saturday :: Cal's defense, freshmen have solid outings on the day
