Jeff Tedford contract extension

According to Associated Press reports, "California coach Jeff Tedford has agreed to a four-year contract extension that will keep the two-time Pac-10 coach of the year with the Golden Bears through 2013, The Associated Press learned Tuesday." Tedford is 43-20 in five seasons, and his name is often mentioned with other coaching vacancies. But in this day and age of coaching bailing on contracts, does this new deal for Tedford even matter?

Jeff Tedford is extremly loyal to the Golden Bears and will honor his contract, unlike some other coaches that are known about in both the colligate and professional ranks. Tedfords continuing sucess has been seen on a national level and will aid in his recruiting trips. I think Coach Tedford will be around for a while and may get this program to a status it hasn't seen yet, national championship status.
